FAQ's

Do you ship your beef?

We do not ship our beef. When you order beef from us it will all be available for pickup at 23565 SD Hwy 37 Letcher, SD 57359. Arrangements may be made for consumers 60 miles away or further to meet half way for delivery. Just give us a call at 605-999-3525 and we will figure out a plan!

Do we, the customer, need to have contact with the processor?

OLC Beef will have all contact with the processor as far as different cuts and quantities needed for each order. We do this to make things simple for our customer and hassle free. All the customer needs to worry about is ordering your beef and picking it up when the time comes!

When will my beef be ready?

After reserving your beef, we will provide an approximate date for pickup. Once the date gets closer we will arrange a specific time for pickup. We will provide updates regarding when different processing dates are made.

How can I buy OLC Beef?

You can order beef on our products page, you can give us a call at 605-999-3525, or you can stop in at 23565 SD Hwy 37 Letcher, SD 57359. We would be happy to visit or answer any questions!

What kind of animals will you be processing?

At OLC Beef we pride ourselves on quality. To achieve our goals we process only Angus cattle. All cattle being processed will be less than 18 months old and will be finished on a grain diet.

Where do you take your animals to get processed?

We have a great working relationship with 605 Meats located in Chester, SD. They are a family-owned business who recognize the importance of local beef and putting consumer's needs first. 605 Meats is a State Inspected facility and all beef is delivered in a vacuum sealed package. We are lucky to call them our processor!

What kind of package does your beef come in?

Our beef cuts come individually packaged in a vacuum sealed package. Vacuum sealed packaging beats your traditional paper or plastic packaging because it prevents oxygen or other bacteria from entering your beef. Another huge advantage of vacuum sealed packaging is that is takes up less freezer space than traditional packaging.

Will you store part of my beef if I am short on room?

We do offer this as an option for those who purchase halves or whole beef from us. We will store your other quarter or half of beef at a small cost for a limited time. Our freezer space is also limited so give us a call if this interests you!

How much freezer space will I need?

The rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer will store 35-40 pounds of meat. A chest freezer will usually give you more storage space than a upright freezer of the same size.
